Meet the dental world in Brazil- the FDI congress is coming closer

The next annual congress of the World Dental Federation (FDI) is coming closer and this year’s event will take place at the coast of Brazil, in the wonderful city Salvador de Bahia. It will be held from the 2nd until the 5th of September and will attrack a large number of dentists from all over the world. Very important part of the congress is as usual the General Assembly of FDI and the different meetings of committees and related organizations like the International Association of Dental Students (IADS) and Young Dentists Worldwide (YDW).
Open for all participants is the scienfitic programme, which is an another big part of the congress and which will be held under the topic „Oral health for all- local challenges and global solutions“. Besides the lectures forums will take place with special themes. The following forums might be interesting for the participants: Joint World Dental Development & Health Promotion Committee (WDDHPC) / Public Health Section (PHS) Forum, Women Dentists Worldwide Forum, IADR (International Association for Dental Research) Forum and the IADS/ISDP (International Speakers Development Programme / International Association of Dental Students) Forum. In those meetings, special interest groups get together and discuss issues according to their needs. Besides those parts as in each FDI- congress will be a Free Communication- Section, where short scientific lectures are held. Those are unter the headlines Oral health promotion, Implantology, Aesthetic dentistry and Caries management. Also posters are presented.
As the participants are used to an attractive social programme, this will also this year be an important part of the whole congress. The opening ceremony is free of charge for the first participants who register and in every year a big event that shows the diversity of the FDI- congress- host and the flag- ceremony is presenting the members of the organization. Other events like the Gala Dinner and the Salvador Night are additional.
