A dental hygienist has been censured after assaulting a man at Sky City with a bottle and a wine glass and blaming workplace stress. The New Zealand Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal today released the findings of its investigation, which it says was necessary to see whether Gerrie Gertruda Janssen was fit to practise after she was convicted of assault with a weapon following the 2009 incident. The conviction came after Janssen hit a man over the head with an empty 300ml bottle and threw a wine glass that smashed in his face as he lay on the ground at Sky City Casino, according to the statement released by the tribunal. Janssen pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 100 hours of community work and ordered to pay reparation of $200 for the assault, which carries a maximum jail term of five years.
